Cory's Fire Hydrant
Ha! Two fire hydrants at once!
The yearly National Championships Bike Race was happening in Downers Grove this weekend and I carefully got an alternative shot, but I didn't like it as much.

I didn't manage to log make a "next week post" yesterday, but here it is a little late: Shadows!

Small flowers and an inchworm
Monet's Flowers
I pushed the limits of photography vs. illustration last week, so I decided to do it again. Here are 10 shots of some yellow coneflowers blended together in one exposure, kind of simulating a Monet painting. I stole the idea from here.
If that doesn't count, here's a nice calla lily.

Next week's topic
In line with the "post the topic on Friday" idea, next week's topic is...
Fire hydrants!
Flowers are due on Sunday.

Fear: Triskaidekaphobia
It turns out "fear" is more difficult to come up with a picture for than I originally thought it would be. I hope a montage counts.
This was going to be my backup image. I think it does a good job of instilling fear:

Topic for 8/1 - 8/10
As I recall, we talked about posting the topics a weekend early to get two weekends worth of time on each (and overlap each a little). So here's the topic for the coming week, due 8/10:
Flowers!
(I moved that one up some in the "future topics" since it is getting late in the summer and more likely that flowers will start wilting soon)
