We had originally planned on staying in Los Alamos for the Fourth of July this year, but we changed our minds at the last minute when northern New Mexico
caught fire: when they
kicked us out of town we decided to make our traditional trip to Omaha despite having a kid that was only 2.5 weeks old. While there I took the usual pictures of
fireworks, and after getting back I took the unusual pictures of
fire. However, out of the batch I liked the one above best. They've been running
helicopter missions all week to keep the fire under control, and this is one of them coming back from dumping its water. They've been keeping our little airport busy for the last two weeks now.
