Mike's "Shutter"

I will do my best Andy Rooney here.  Why do they call them "door openers"?  I'll bet the last time any of these were used were to shut a door.  They should be called "door shutters".
I know for a fact that when I replaced this Genie with a Chamberland, the door was indeed shut.  Now I know why my wife calls them clickers.
