It could reasonably be done in a darkroom, so it's fine by me.
Odd lighting, though. I take it you moved the strobe(s) between shots?

Nope, the light stayed the same for all three - one flash to camera left, and one on-board flash. Looking at it again, though, I see that the guy on the left lost his shadow during the cutting-out process, so that's probably why it looks weird.
