Ryan's "Tiny"

Wee little baby peppers are very tiny:

Mike's "Tiny"

A pony is a "tiny" horse, isn't it?  I guess we will have to let the voters decide.
The ponies were on the West side of the road and most of the horses on the East.  Ponies are also pretty stubborn when its dinner time.  They are not interested in flirting with the camera at all.  I find horses and unicorns a little more cooperative.

Cory's Tiny

I'm going to be in Boston this weekend, so here's an early submission.

It turns out the signature line on my checks isn't a line at all - it's actually the words "authorized signature" written in very tiny letters over and over. I had to zoom in so close to get them that you can actually see the individual fibers of the paper too. Amazing!

Craig's 3:00

So around 3:00 last Sunday I was walking around Canada's capital city (Ottawa) with my old friend Keith and his family. This is Keith and Keiko sitting at the Centennial Flame on the hill.

I just like this picture a lot.

Ryan's "3:00"

I'm lacking creativity this week...

Mike's "3:00"

Hey!  It's 3:00 AM.  Wake up!  You know that big bowl of water you gave me and the other two dogs?  I drank the whole thing!  I know that was rather glutinous of me but they weren't drinking any and its hotter than heck in here because your old lady won't open a window.

Anyway, you know how I spritz the carpet when I can't hold it any longer?  Yeah.  I can't promise I ain't gonna get you in the feet again when we go downstairs, so you better wear your slippers.

I know what your thinking.  Why didn't I ask the "other person in this bed".  I did, and she was unresponsive.  Though, I bet like last time, we hear her get up and pee as soon as we are down the stairs.  Faker.

Oh, and one more thing.  When we come back up, could you refill that water dish?  I'm feeling a little thirsty.

Cory's 3:00

Yup. It's 3:00.

Craig's Ice

This is the Rideau Canal emptying into the Ottawa River. It is decidedly not ice, but bear with me.

The locks you see are the original locks, and are hand-operated to this day, and from May to October, you can navigate your way from the Ottawa River, down the canal, to Kingston, Ontario.

In the fall, they drain the canal and perform maintenance, then partially fill it back up. In the winter, the low water turns to ice, and 4.8 miles of the canal become the world's largest skating rink. Some people even make it part of their commute.

Mike's "Ice"

Red Bull chilling on "ice".
Enough said...

Cory's Ice

I'm in the desert, and it is June. Not only is there no ice around, but there isn't even any water around to make some. So I had to make my own, and then let it slowly melt. A recommendation for anybody planning to take pictures of an ice cube on a sheet of glass - find a slightly concave piece of glass. My ice kept creeping around and trying to slide off the edge.

Ryan's "Ice"

I looked all over for ice. Unfortunately, Omaha lacks any interesting form of ice in June.

I then went on a quest for dry ice. One grocery store was completely out, and the other didn't sell dry ice.

I gave up and got this:

Mmmm..... cookie dough.

Cory's Framed

Lis, Maddy, and I took a walk to the park today, and I happened to have my tiny picture frame along. This is Maddy's favorite new toy: the slide. She's learned to climb the stairs, sit down at the top, and and launch her way down to the bottom. She still needs help down there though - the end of that slide is pretty high.

Ryan's "Framed"

The grave of Will Brown, lynched in the 1919 Omaha Race Riot. I'm not sure that he was framed, but justice was certainly not upheld.

As a side note, framing this was a real pain.

Craig's Framed

This weekend, we took part in a scavenger hunt. Actually, it was part "Amazing Race" style competition, part scavenger hunt. On each team, you had a "Pitch", "Patch", and "Pinch". I was Pinch, and had to bake cookies from a recipe. Pitch had to pitch a tent (or adjust wine glasses to the right pitch and play Twinkle Twinkle). Patch had to put together this puzzle. We had to complete these tasks in sequence to get the next task, and ultimately our list.

The puzzles were hard, as you can see. Even after getting the thing framed in, it still took forever to get the middle done.

Mike's "Framed"

I found this week a bit of a challenge.  I then realized that you could use objects in your picture to "frame" other objects, as I did here with the fence framing the mule.  This is a very friendly mule that Sandra and I discovered at Platte River State Park about five years ago.
I started with a picture I had of a triangle framing pool balls, but the felt was full of lint and my flash really needs updating so I took a ride.  My favorite lighting is when a storm is approaching because you still have daylight, but you get a bounce off the clouds.
